about

Bryan Tewell Hughes combines ethereal Electronica with organic and acoustic elements to produce lush, detailed, enigmatic pieces. As a composer, musician, and audio craftsman, Hughes’ vision is rich, attention-grabbing, and original; AeTopus albums are not mere collections of individual songs - they are flowing, thematic works of sonic art through which universal themes gently emerge with abstraction and sophistication.

Tempula (2006, 12Ton Productions) was nominated for the award of Best Electronic Album in the 2006 New Age Reporter Lifestyle Music Awards. Reviewer Bill Binkelman refers to this 62-minute CD as "...a cohesive vision which carries with it strains of tribal spirituality, awe, power, passion, and a more than a whiff of the sensation of ancient ceremonies...", and goes on to classify it as an "ethno-tribal/EM/new age hybrid". The original compact disc was graced by the "temple girl" illustration, an oil painting by Bryan Tewell Hughes. Copies of the physical CD are now extremely limited.
